Don't let the heat wave fool you—fall is already just around the corner, and Gigi Hadid has figured out the perfect uniform for the seasonal (and sartorial) transition.
On Wednesday, the supermodel was photographed out and about in New York City, where she put on a sophisticated yet casual ensemble with an oversized button-up in a cornflower blue shade. She left half of the top unbuttoned, allowing for a breezy display, and paired it with ripped straight-leg jeans. For footwear, Hadid wore white leather buckle slides from the Italy-based brand M. Gemi. Accessories included a pair of olive-green-tinted oval sunglasses with gold frames from Jean Paul Gaultier, a creamy pocket pouch purse from Loro Piana, a gold chain necklace, and gold and pearl drop earrings.
Hadid recently announced that she plans on launching her own line of knitwear, dubbed Guest in Residence. She unveiled the news on Instagram, sharing some behind-the-scenes photos of the process, like sifting through different color palettes with some help from designer CJ Kim and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson as well as looking over snippets of various fabric samples.
She wrote in the caption, "been workin on something …. with love, @guestinresidence 💛🧵 :)"
Hadid had previously flirted with the idea of starting her own business venture during a 2021 interview with i-D.
"Having had all my dreams come true in fashion, and saying: 'Now what?' I don’t need another cover or campaign. I would rather leave that to a new face, someone for whom it would really change their life or career at this point," she told the magazine. "Where can I make way for that next generation and focus my energy and time on something else? Something that is obviously still in this world but is fulfilling for me creatively, and different."
