One of our favorite teen dramas is finally back.

ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars was the network's highest-rated series debut in 2010 for its enthralling premise surrounding a mysterious cyberbullying threat to a group of high school girls. Now, the hunt for anonymous assailant "A" continues on HBO Max with the latest television offshoot based around Sara Shepard's best-selling young-adult book series of the same name. And starting today, you can begin bingeing it from home.

In Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, a brand-new assailant signed "A" torments the latest generation of teenage girls—Imogen (Bailee Madison), Tabby (Chandler Kinney), Faran (Zaria), Mouse (Malia Pyles), and Noa (Maia Reficco)—to avenge their mothers' high school bullying that prompted the suicide of fellow classmate Angela Waters (Gabriella Pizzolo) in 1999. Twenty years later in the same town of Millwood, the girls are now haunted by the "original sin" of their mothers, and consequently stalked and terrorized with death threats from the bone-chilling figure. ("One down, five to go," a menacing text reads in the trailer.) In the premiere season, the group embarks on a perilous investigation to uncover the culprit's identity while scrambling to preserve each of their own lives.

The reimagined series is bringing a fresh take on the original setting with increased accessibility, per co-creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “Very early on, we decided we were going to invent new characters. We weren’t going to do a new version of [original series characters] Aria or Alison,” Aguirre-Sacasa told The New York Post. “We said, ‘That’s canon … but what’s going on in this town that’s a little bit removed from Rosewood [where the original show was set]? This town called Millwood, which is a less affluent town, is a rust belt town down on its luck. It’s a little grittier than Rosewood. It was like, ‘This will be part of the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ cinematic universe,’ as we jokingly call it. But there’s enough new stuff here.”
