Lizzo is getting wrapped up in a crime scene to promote her own music.
On Instagram yesterday, the Grammy-winning singer shared a video of herself dancing to her hit single "About Damn Time," while her body was entirely covered by bright yellow Balenciaga caution tape.
"IM A RIDICULOUS HUMAN," she wrote in the post caption. "JUST STREAM ‘ABOUT DAMN TIME’ AND DONT ASK ANY QUESTIONS 😫."
Lizzo dropped "About Damn Time" this past April to viral success.
She called the single the "song of the summer" while speaking on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily with Zane Lowe, per Entertainment Tonight.
"'About Damn Time' can lead into so many conversations," she told Lowe. "It's about damn time I feel better, it's about damn time we get out of this pandemic. It's about damn time we get the first Black female Supreme Court Justice. There's so many things. It's about damn time we popped the champagne. It's about damn time the tequila got here."
She also spoke to ELLE UK about how she wanted to make celebratory and uplifting music amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I had to remember, when we come out of lockdown, people are going to be coming out of a depression. And the end of lockdown does not signify the end of their mental-health struggles. So I wanted to make music that people can use as a soundtrack to survive," she said. "All of these incredible songs are giving people the language to express themselves and to have a release after everything they’ve experienced."
