Regina King has made a stunning return to the red carpet.
The Academy Award-winning actor attended the Filming Italy Festival in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy, this weekend, and stepped out in a flowing all-white two-piece for an awards ceremony. For the event, the star paired a sleeveless top tied at the waist with a maxi skirt featuring a hip-high slit and a matching mini-length layer underneath, as well as nude heeled sandals with metallic silver ankle straps.
She accessorized the look with diamond hoop earrings and carried a Louis Vuitton monogram circle purse, and wore her hair in ombre blond and orange braids.
This glamorous appearance is King's first public outing since the death of her son Ian Alexander Jr. earlier this year. The One Night in Miami director has remained private for most of this year, and skipped the red carpet for the 2022 Met Gala, where she served as one of the year's co-chairs.
"Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian," King said in a statement at the time. "He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you."
The Watchmen actor has both acting and directing projects in the works this year. She has reportedly begun filming on a Shirley Chisolm biopic directed by John Ridley, where King will portray the first Black congresswoman and the first Black candidate for president. She is also set to direct her second film, a feature adaptation of the award-winning comic series Bitter Root.
